one year

Today I'm going to tell you about the greatest hidden gem we've encountered as a married couple. For all you love birds out there, if you're looking for the perfect getaway Park City in April is the answer. Kev and I celebrated our one year anniversary at the Hyatt Escala Lodge for a steal (through priceline) and we had the whole place to ourselves. Seriously, I didn't see another human soul our entire stay. The gal at the front desk even upgraded us to a suite because she knew it was our special day (score).
After we settled in we spent a pretty penny at Ruth's Chris for dinner and quite honestly, it was worth every one of those darn pennies.. but you're also talking to a couple who worships the food network and would spend extra cash on a meal over any other activity. After our fancy schmancy dinner we spent the night munching on sour gummy worms and watching our wedding videos. We slept for a solid ten hours, picked up Kneaders breakfast on our way home, and called it good. I wouldn't have spent it any other way.
I wasn't going to get all mushy gushy on you, but I figured our one year is a good enough excuse. People told us the first year would be tough.. and the first couple of months were definitely an adjustment, but looking back I would say it has been rather easy.. and that may be due to the fact that I married such a laid back and patient man, or because we get along like a couple a girlfriends. It hasn't been perfect by any means, but choosing to get married was the best decision I've ever made. I've been able to grow in ways I'd never imagined and I'm baffled by the fact that my capacity to love Kevin grows more everyday.. it's nuts.. and wonderful all at the same time. I can't wait for the years to come and the adventures that await us. Until next year, I'll keep this gushy stuff under wraps.. I love you Kevin Mark.

  3. First of all I want to say excellent blog! I had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I have had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out. I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints? Many thanks!
