I just finished reading the book "Proof of Heaven" by Eben Alexander.. a neurosurgeon who had a near death experience while in a week long coma. Not only was it fascinating from a medical perspective, but from a spiritual standpoint as well. This man wasn't religious prior to his journey into heaven, but he explains how he came to know the power of God's love for him.
I did some research after reading the book, and dove deeper into this idea of near death experiences.. and what I found were skeptics. Skeptics claiming the author was hallucinating and not credible as a neurosurgeon, which is unfortunate. In our world today it's difficult to believe in something.. to have faith in something, because if you do.. you'll get shut down by statistics and logic.
My grandfather was a brilliant man. He was a spiritual giant in addition to a scientist. He taught me that the two can coexist.. that we can learn so much from numbers and the universe, but that God is real. After reading "Proof of Heaven" I couldn't help but share my opinion on it, because based on the observations I've had with hospice patients and my own grandparents passing on.. I know wholeheartedly, that there is life after death. I know that God knows us so perfectly and individually. I've had countless personal experiences that have warmed my entire being knowing He is aware of my every need.
