I'm not sure if I've mentioned this on here, but we are building a home in Lehi! It should be done in about a month and I can hardly contain my excitement. I was hesitant to tell anyone, just because I didn't want to boast about it.. but I figured I should document it seeing as it's such a monumental step for us.

I snapped these pictures while we were down south and fell in love with that window pane. It got me thinking about what I want our home to consist of, and I wrote down some goals for the atmosphere I would like to have. I thought about our future and became overwhelmed with thoughts of Saturday morning pancakes, messy art projects, and dance parties in our living room.

Granted.. these are just fantasies, and I'm sure along with Saturday morning pancakes there will be crayon all over the wall.. or a few arguments here and there ;) .. but I just want it to be a safe place for us. A haven from the chaos of the world.

I want it to be a home.

One may make their house a palace of sham, or they can make it a home, a refuge.

  1. So fun! I felt the same way when we bought our house. One thing I learned very quickly (what with a little and all) is that a perfectly clean house isn't always a perfectly happy one. If there's stuff spread around from my toddler, it's OK. When your family is happy, it doesn't matter how clean it is! Enjoy your home! :)

  2. That's not boasting at all, that's super exciting stuff!! Honestly I hate how we always have to be on our guard about things, or as not to "offend" anyone. You're excited about it, you should be able to share! Sorry rant on you. :) That's super exciting though, I'm glad you shared. And I love Lehi, great location to choose.

  3. Yay! And, as Charlotte Lucas said, "Oh, Lizzie, it's such a pleasure to run my own home."
