We’ve had a visitor. A visitor who brought plenty of humor,
girl talk, and a little piece of home to this side of the country. I’ve decided
to sum up our weekend as quickly as possible, so I’m not boring you with
unnecessary details and inside jokes that “you had to be there” for.
Friday was filled with miles of walking around New York City
with stops at Ground Zero, SoHo, and Chinatown. We had quite the experience,
not to mention the sudden downpour of East Coast rain… we ate cupcakes to make
it better.
Saturday we were off to Palmyra. Fortunately, we were able
to see one our best friends perform in the Hill Cumorah Pageant and posted up
in a one star hotel room for the night, which made for a good laugh.
Sunday… Sunday was my favorite day. We spent the afternoon
wandering through The Sacred Grove and visiting other various church sites.
There is an indescribable sense of peace in the quaint little town of Palmyra.
Monday we traveled yet again to the Big Apple and looked
over the entire city from the Empire State Building. Central Park seemed to
need a visit so we dropped by to say hello and then made our way over to Times
Square. After an exhausting day, we called it quits and lounged in bed for a
few hours.
Tuesday we stayed put here in Stamford and decided to have a
lazy day. A trip to Target and dinner, along with hours of relaxing in between seemed
to qualify as lazy day.
Wednesday creeped up on us and it was time to say farewell
to our visitor. It meant so much to have someone out here with us, even if it
was for a short time. I’ve come to realize how much my friends and family mean
to me while we have been enjoying this adventure, so thanks for visiting Ky…
it was a weekend to remember.
